The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stated that the Indian team shall abide by the International Control Board emblem and Champions Trophy criteria.
So, it is now official that India’s fifth uniform has been sanctioned, and it will feature the official ICC emblem which contains Pakistan’s mark.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said “we shall follow whatever the ICC lays down”, hoping to subdue the ruckus hyped around the Indian jersey and Champions Trophy emblem. When it was pointed out that Pakistan appears beneath the official ICC emblem, Saikia returned the answer, “We will follow the ICC directive.”
Saikia’s statement rests the dispute regarding India’s intimation on the official emblem of the rejoinder circumvention, as the team would not be traveling to Pakistan in the first place. Hosts of the tournament, Pakistan, shall stage the Champions Trophy from February 19 to March 9, while the Indian squad will conduct their games in Dubai.

In 2017, competing teams of the Champions Trophy had kits from England and Wales. Hosted in Malaysia is the ICC women’s U19 T20 World Cup and the host country’s name was placed on the emblem for the tournament. The Pakistani players wore World Cup 2023 kits with a ceremony patch depicting an event in India. All recently released in this ICC media have been display banners of the Champions Trophy with Pakistan’s inclusion.
However, this is not the case with the Asia Cup. During the last Asia Cup in 2023 when Pakistan was the official host, the latest kits used did not have the Pakistan emblem.
The ACC’s Asia Cup sponsorship made it clear that there was a shift in policy. The name of the hosting nation did not need to be included.
