There has been no specific information in regards to Jagprit Bumrah’s injury, which is worrying given that the Championship Trophy 2025 is only a few days away. While he was named in India’s squad for the Champions Trophy, it is still not clear if he will play. Sitanshu Kotak, India’s batting coach, does not appear to have any information regarding Bumrah’s fitness either. Before the second ODI match against England, he was asked about Bumrah’s injury and was non-communicative but said it was something the physiotherapist would understand.
“That’s something the physio would know,” Kotak said before the second ODI against England.
Eyes will be on Bumrah ahead of the eight team tournament and the Champions Trophy 2025, which is set to commence in Dubai and Pakistan from February 19, to see if he is sujsutom to the event.
His history surrounding ICC events has been marred with unfortunate injury and fitness issues. There have already been three major has missed events in his career: the 2023 World Test Championship Final and the two T20 World Cups in 2021 and 2022.
