Chakravarthy was a late inclusion. In place of a specialist batter, Yashasvi Jaiswal, chose him, and he proved the selection and the captain’s vision correct. He came back from New Zealand with a five-wicket haul in only his second ODI. “He just showed what he is capable of.” Rohit said of the Tamil Nadu spinner who is 33 years old. However, he would not say Chakravarthy is a certainty.
“It is our job now to identify the areas of that combination that can be constructed for the future. He did everything that was asked for. This is not our home, this is Dubai, so we do not play so many matches here. This is new for us too,” he added.
